Evolving Treatment Strategies for Patients With Relapsed or Refractory DLBCL
At the Lymphoma, Leukemia & Myeloma (LL&M) Winter Symposium in Amelia Island, Florida, Julio Chavez, MD, from Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida, reviews current and emerging treatment options for patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
Dr Chavez highlights differences between clinical trial outcomes and real-world experience, as well as evolving combination strategies and outlines a practical, real-world approach to sequencing therapies to improve outcomes in this challenging patient population.
Transcript:
Good afternoon, my name is Julio Chavez, I'm a medical oncologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I'm very glad to participate in the LL&M Winter Symposium at Amelia Island. Today, I'm going to talk about treatment options for relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
I'm going to start with the introduction, standard of care therapies available for these patients. We're going to talk about long-term data of CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, and targeted therapies. In addition, we're going to talk about also some of the real-life experience for CAR-T and bispecific antibodies that are available and how is this different from clinical trials.
Towards the end of the discussion of my topic, I'm going to talk about novel options, combinations– particularly combination of bispecific antibodies and antibody drug conjugates, and also with targeted therapies such as immunomodulators and cell modes.
Finally, I'm going to finish with workflow of how I practice or how I treat my patients with refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in my practice and kind of open the door to discussions of how we can improve outcomes on these patients.
I'll be glad that you can be present in my discussion and I'll be happy to take questions at the end. Thank you.
