IB Nimble 2 Adds In-App DICOM Viewing for Real-Time Multidisciplinary Collaboration

06/17/2026

Elm Grove, WI — Imaging Biometrics, LLC (IB), focused on advanced medical imaging software solutions, announced the release of IB Nimble™ 2, the next generation of its secure, mobile application for multidisciplinary collaboration. This milestone represents a significant evolution of the IB Nimble platform, driven by direct feedback from clinical users and designed to enhance collaboration, streamline workflows, and accelerate decision-making.

IB Nimble 2, compatible with web, Android, and iOS, reflects substantial advancements by IB’s software development team. The platform now features an industrial-strength architecture with enhanced cybersecurity, as well as user-facing improvements such as customizable roles and permissions.

The most notable enhancement is the ability to view medical images directly within the app. This long-awaited feature enables care teams to review imaging in real time—effectively supporting “virtual tumor board” discussions from anywhere. In addition, a synchronized cross-platform experience allows users to participate seamlessly across all their devices, with discussions and data updating in real time without the need for complex local installations.

“This release is a major milestone,” said Dr. Joseph Bovi, MD, Physician Chief, Thedacare Cancer Service Line. “The ability to sync with PACS and view DICOM images within IB Nimble 2 fundamentally transforms how clinicians and researchers collaborate. Instead of toggling between systems, users can now review imaging data in context, in real time, alongside colleagues—bringing meaningful gains in efficiency and clinical impact.”

The platform is designed to support a wide range of use cases, from complex disease management to emergent care settings.

“I’m incredibly proud of our development team and what we’ve delivered,” said Josh McComack, IB’s Director of Software Engineering. “IB Nimble 2 meets clinicians where they are—leveraging mobile technology to make collaboration faster, more seamless, and more impactful.”

IB Nimble 2 is now available to both existing and new users. Organizations interested in upgrading or learning more can visit www.imagingbiometrics.com or contact Imaging Biometrics directly.
