Did you know Cath Lab Digest has a mission?

March 2002
We strive to: 1) Educate and inform; 2) Connect our readers across the U.S. and worldwide; 3) Highlight the knowledge, dignity, and hard work of cath lab professionals. Every word written in Cath Lab Digest can be traced back to these three statements, and the March issue embodies exactly what CLD hopes to accomplish: 1. Educate: CLD chases down new developments (as always) and brings you the latest information about homocysteine and how it affects restenosis. Since our editorial office is based in Michigan, I’m always pleased when a Michigan facility does something notable. Providence Hospital cath labs in Southfield, Michigan, just installed a unique digital archiving system of which they are very proud. We get an insider’s look on page 24. CLD shares the rotational atherectomy chapter from editor Sandy Watson’s Invasive Cardiology: A Manual for Cath Lab Personnel, a text written specifically for cath lab professionals. 2. Connect: The CLD Email Discussion Group reveals the nitty-gritty of cath labs’ daily operations. Reader-to-reader requests for advice (What Do You Think?, page 44) offer a chance to network and maybe even brag a little. 3. Highlight: CLD and SICP board member Kenneth Gorski, RN, RCIS, talks about his career history and volunteering for the SICP. Cardiology-related facilities and their employees who made Fortune’s list of The 100 Best Companies to Work For share opinions about working for the best. Enjoy!
