Refining Treatment Pathways: Data-Driven Approaches to Sequencing in Lymphoma

Amy Goodrich, RN, BSN, MSN, CRNP-AC, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, presented an overview of recent advances in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), focusing on evolving treatment strategies and the complexities of therapy sequencing at the 2025 Lymphoma, Leukemia & Myeloma (LL&M) Congress APP Institute in New York, New York.

She highlighted the expanding array of therapeutic options and the need for clearer guidance to tailor sequencing decisions based on patient age, comorbidities, and prognostic factors.

Amy concluded, “There's clearly a need for more guidance with sequencing, but we do have some data available to help guide sequencing in this growing number of therapies.”

Transcript:

Hi, I'm Amy Goodrich. I'm a nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland, and I work in our lymphoma department.

I did a talk on lymphomas and what was new in lymphomas. We covered specifically diffuse large cell, follicular lymphoma, and CLL. Some disease state, some current treatment strategies, new agents, and then really got into sequencing therapies and the challenges with sequencing therapies in those 3 diseases.

Hopefully folks found that helpful and are able to think about all these growing numbers of therapies differently and sending patients down the right paths based on their age and their comorbidities and their prognostics and things of that nature.

There's clearly a need for more guidance with sequencing, but we do have some data available to help guide sequencing in this growing number of therapies. For me, that was the really fun part, is digging through all of the data and really trying to figure out where we are in sequencing therapies.
